Reliable Signal Transmission for Automation Systems
Power plants, chemical plants, metallurgical workshops, and municipal automation systems rely heavily on signal transmission. Switches, 4-20mA analog signals, and equipment control instructions travel through cables between PLCs, DCS, variable frequency drives, and field actuators. These signals have different requirements than power cables. They need shielding performance, high core density, and strong anti-interference capability. Anhui Tiankang's universal control cable (KVV series) is specifically designed for signal transmission rather than power delivery. The rated voltage is 450/750V. Core counts range from 4 to 61 cores. Cross-sections range from 0.5mm² to 2.5mm². The cable adapts to everything from simple switch control to complex instrument signal acquisition.
The core selection criterion is the shielding type. In control rooms with no variable frequency drives or large motors, KVV standard type (unshielded) is sufficient. This suits equipment room wiring and general switch signal transmission. When cables are installed near motors or variable frequency drives, strong electromagnetic interference couples into the signal lines. This causes DCS display fluctuations or even false alarms. Shielded control cables become mandatory in these conditions.
Universal control cable products include KVVP with copper wire braided overall shield. This is effective against high-frequency interference. It suits variable frequency drive environments. KVVP2 uses copper tape shielding. This is more effective against low-frequency magnetic interference. It suits large motor areas. For multiple weak signals (like multiple thermocouple or transmitter signals), we recommend the individual shield plus overall shield structure. Each pair of signal lines has its own shield plus an overall shield. This completely eliminates cross-talk between circuits.


Sheath and Armor Options
For sheath and armor selection, KVV22/KVVP22 adds a steel tape armor layer. This suits direct burial underground and cable trenches requiring compression and rodent protection. KYJV/KYJVP uses XLPE insulation. Working temperature is 90°C (compared to 70°C for standard PVC). This suits high-temperature workshops. For underground utility tunnels, high-rise buildings, and nuclear auxiliary buildings with strict fire safety requirements, WDZ-KYJYP (low-smoke halogen-free flame-retardant) and WDZN-KYJYP (low-smoke halogen-free fire-resistant) are mandatory options. These produce no toxic corrosive gases during combustion. KCPR rubber-sheathed flexible control cables are soft and wear-resistant. These suit mobile equipment like overhead cranes and hoists.
All products strictly follow GB/T 9330 and IEC 60227 standards. Braid shielding density is ≥80%. This ensures effective electromagnetic interference suppression. All cables undergo conductor resistance, insulation resistance, and voltage withstand testing before shipment. Export shipments include CE (LVD+EMC+RoHS) certification and IEC standard test reports.
