Measuring Pressure Differences with High Static Pressure Capability

 

Air filter condition monitoring, fan inlet-outlet pressure differential, storage tank level measurement, and orifice flow meter differential pressure all share a common requirement. They need to know the pressure difference between two points. They do not need absolute pressure values. Anhui Tiankang's differential pressure gauge (CYW series) uses a dual-capsule isolation structure inside. Independent high-pressure and low-pressure chambers connect to the two measurement points.

The pressure difference between the two sides deforms the elastic element. A gear mechanism amplifies this deformation. The pointer directly displays the differential pressure. The differential pressure gauge does not show either side's absolute pressure. It only focuses on the difference between the two points. This provides direct information about filter blockage or flow rate.

Differential pressure gauge products differ fundamentally from ordinary capsule pressure gauges. They have static pressure withstand capability. Both sides of a filter may have high system pressure (for example, 1.6MPa). The pressure difference across them may be only a few kPa. Ordinary capsule gauges cannot withstand this high pressure. The high and low pressure chambers of the differential pressure gauge are designed to withstand static pressures up to 1.0MPa, 1.6MPa, 4.0MPa, or higher. The internal capsule only responds to the pressure difference. When selecting a differential pressure gauge, customers must confirm two parameters: the differential pressure range and the maximum static pressure.

Material Options and Extended Functions

 

The standard type (CYW) uses a tin bronze capsule and brass connections. This suits non-corrosive media like clean air and ambient temperature clean water. It is the cost-effective choice for air compressor filters and ventilation duct pressure monitoring. The stainless steel corrosion-proof type (CYW-B) upgrades the diaphragm, connection, and housing to 304 or 316L stainless steel. This handles chemical exhaust, seawater, and weak acid or alkaline liquids. It is the standard for export projects and chemical applications.

The electrical contact differential pressure gauge (CYW-X) has adjustable contacts inside. When the differential pressure reaches the set value, the contacts output an alarm signal. This is used for automatic filter blockage alerts. The oil-filled vibration-resistant differential pressure gauge (CYWN) effectively dampens pointer oscillation. This suits vibrating fan equipment.

Quality Testing and Export Readiness

 

All products strictly follow JB/T 10205 and EN 837-3 standards. Standard differential pressure ranges cover 0-0.25kPa to 0-60kPa. Dial sizes are φ60, φ100, and φ150. Accuracy is 2.5% as standard. Export orders can be customized to 1.6% grade. Connection thread is M20×1.5 standard. Export orders can be supplied with NPT1/4, NPT1/2, or G1/2 threads.

Each differential pressure gauge undergoes high and low pressure chamber static pressure seal testing and differential pressure calibration before shipment. Export shipments include CE certification, ISO17025 calibration reports, and material certificates.
