High-Temperature Resistance
High-temperature resistant wires and cables are required in sectors such as aerospace, rolling stock, energy, iron and steel, non-ferrous metal smelting, petroleum extraction, electric motors, and construction. Common types-designed for long-term continuous operating temperatures ranging from 125°C to over 250°C-utilize materials such as irradiated cross-linked polyolefin, silicone rubber, fluororesin, polyimide, mica, and magnesium oxide. Two new types of high-temperature resistant wires and cables are introduced below:

Polyethersulfone (PES) Insulated Wire
This material offers excellent heat resistance, physical and mechanical properties, electrical insulation, and extrusion moldability. It is particularly notable for its ability to maintain stable performance during continuous high-temperature use and in environments subject to rapid temperature fluctuations. Key specifications include: a heat deflection temperature of 200–220°C, a continuous operating temperature of 180–200°C, and a UL temperature index of 180°C. It withstands hot water or steam at 150–160°C and resists acid and alkali corrosion at high temperatures. Its elastic modulus remains virtually unchanged between -100°C and 200°C, outperforming any other thermoplastic resin at temperatures above 100°C. It features a low coefficient of linear thermal expansion with minimal temperature dependence. It is non-toxic, FDA-approved, and complies with Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare Notifications No. 434 and No. 178. Additionally, it is self-extinguishing; it exhibits excellent flame retardancy without the need for additives, achieving a UL94 V-0 rating (at 0.46 mm).

Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) Insulated Wire
Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is a thermoplastic resin with exceptional heat resistance. It has a long-term continuous operating temperature of 250°C and a UL temperature index of 250°C.
PEEK is a flexible resin that also offers excellent creep resistance. It also possesses self-extinguishing properties; without the addition of any flame retardants, it meets the requirements for UL94 V-1 (0.3 mm thickness), 94 V-0 (1.5 mm thickness), and 94 V-5 (3.2 mm thickness) ratings.
