1. Special Overhead Lines Although China can produce special overhead lines with specific requirements, there is still a significant gap compared to international advanced levels in terms of high heat resistance, corrosion resistance, creep resistance, flexibility, and high conductivity. For example, split overhead lines show discrepancies in technical performance indicators such as corrosion resistance, vibration resistance, ice and snow resistance, low corona loss, low arc loss, low arc quantity, and multiple capacity. To meet the needs of major projects like the Three Gorges Dam, it is necessary to greatly develop and improve the variety and performance of special overhead lines.

2. Nuclear Power Plant Wire and Cable Nuclear power plant cables are distributed across the nuclear island, conventional island, and BOP sections, used for power transmission, control, computing, instrumentation, and so on. The types of cables required for a nuclear power plant are basically the same as for a thermal power plant. However, due to strict technical requirements for halogen-free, low-smoke, and low-toxicity cables, China currently can only produce and manufacture cables for the periphery of the nuclear island, while most other cables still rely on imports. According to the national "12th Five-Year Plan for Energy Development" and the "Emerging Energy Industry Development Plan," to achieve the 15% target for non-fossil energy by 2020, China's nuclear power capacity needs to reach at least 75 million kilowatts, whereas the current domestic nuclear capacity is only 9 million kilowatts, indicating a potential seven to eightfold growth. Therefore, nuclear power plant cables have a promising market outlook.

3. Low-Smoke, Low-Halogen, Flame-Retardant Cables These products are mainly used in subways, tunnels, oil platforms, ships, power stations, and other important locations. During the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, related industries experienced rapid development, such as domestic subway construction and improvement, and the comprehensive construction of the railway network (including high-speed rail). This will further drive significant demand for high-performance, environmentally friendly low-smoke, low-halogen, and low-smoke halogen-free cables.

4. Automotive Wiring During the 'Twelfth Five-Year Plan', China's automotive industry will continue to grow rapidly. By 2015, annual vehicle production is expected to reach 25 million, compared to around 16 million during the 'Eleventh Five-Year Plan', an increase of 56%, so the demand for automotive wiring will also rise significantly. The future trend for this product is high-temperature resistance, high damping, thin-wall and shielded automotive wiring.

5. High flame-retardant wires and cables Currently, most domestically produced flame-retardant cables are Class C or Class B, while Class A high flame-retardant types are still under development. This is quite far from meeting the requirements of many high-quality engineering projects in China. During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", the development goal is to provide a complete range of Class A flame-retardant cables to meet various high flame-retardant performance requirements. 6. Wideband and local area network cables for smart buildings (Category 6A, 7 and 8 digital network communication wires and cables) These products can transmit telephone, fax, video calls, and burglar alarm signals, and are also called data cables. In the US, they already account for more than 20% of all insulated cables. Domestically, with the rapid development of smart buildings, computer industrialisation, and the information superhighway projects, the demand for these cables is expected to grow rapidly. Currently, the transmission rate of these cables has reached 250MHz (Category 6), and during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", it is expected to reach a transmission frequency of 800MHz, meeting the "three networks in one" requirements for transmission media.
